Sage Therapy & Consulting offers two distinct kinds of support. Mental health therapy provides a confidential space for clients to work through emotional challenges, strengthen coping skills, understand patterns, and create meaningful change in their lives. Consulting services are designed specifically for clinicians and focus on the practical side of building and growing a private practice, including clarifying goals, developing systems, and navigating practice ownership. Consulting is a professional service and is separate from mental health treatment.
We provide therapy for women and men experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, stress, burnout, and the pressures that can leave them feeling overwhelmed or disconnected from themselves. We also specialize in perinatal mental health, offering support through pregnancy, postpartum, and the many emotional challenges that can accompany the transition to parenthood.
In a welcoming, collaborative environment, we help clients gain clarity, develop practical tools, and create meaningful, lasting change. Sage Therapy and Consulting is located in Blair, Nebraska, and we also provide convenient online therapy for clients throughout Nebraska and Iowa.
In addition to clinical services, we offer consulting for clinicians who are ready to launch and grow their own private practices. From clarifying your vision and establishing essential systems to navigating the realities of practice ownership, we provide practical guidance to help you move forward with confidence and direction.
Whether you’re seeking support for yourself or taking the next step toward practice ownership, Sage Therapy and Consulting is here to help you move forward.

I’m a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and Perinatal Mental Health - Certified therapist who believes therapy can be both meaningful and practical. My style is warm, down-to-earth, collaborative, and grounded in real life. I want clients to feel comfortable being themselves in the room while also leaving with greater understanding, useful tools, and a clearer sense of how to move forward.
My clinical work is especially informed by an interest in women’s mental health, ADHD, pregnancy and postpartum concerns, anxiety, depression, trauma, burnout, relationships, and the many transitions that can change how we see ourselves and our lives. I tend to work best with people who are carrying a lot, thinking about a lot, and ready for a space where they do not have to have everything figured out before they walk in.
I’m not a one-size-fits-all therapist. I draw from evidence-based approaches and tailor therapy to the person in front of me, balancing insight with practical strategies that can actually be used outside of session. I value honesty, humor when it fits, curiosity, and helping people understand the patterns underneath what they are experiencing rather than simply telling them what they “should” do.
Sage Therapy & Consulting grew out of that same practical, individualized philosophy. I built my private practice from the ground up, learning the business side along the way, and that experience eventually became the foundation for the consulting work I now offer to other clinicians. As Sage grows into a group practice, my goal is to build a team that shares the same commitment to thoughtful, approachable, high-quality care.
When I decided to start my own private practice, I built it on my own. I was self-taught, and I was scared — but I was also determined to make it happen. As I figured out each step along the way, I realized how little the business and practice-building side of clinical social work is taught in school. We learn how to be clinicians, but there isn't a manual for how to take those skills and build a private practice around them.
That experience shapes the way I work with clinicians today. My consulting services are individualized because every clinician, practice, and starting point is different. I don't offer a blanket course or a one-size-fits-all “how to” program. Instead, I sit down with you individually, learn where you are in the process, and focus on exactly what you need help with or where you're getting stuck as you work toward launching your practice.
I use my own real-world experience of building a practice from the ground up to relate to the uncertainty, questions, and decisions that come with starting one. My goal is to help you sort through what's in front of you, provide practical guidance, and make the process feel more manageable as you build a practice that fits you.

I started seeing Kay shortly after I retired - major life event. She is so good at what she does. She really listens, and in future sessions, refers to what I've said in prior sessions, tying things together. I am so fortunate to have found her.
From the very beginning, she made me feel comfortable and truly heard. She uses evidence-based approaches in a way that feels practical and personalized, and she’s incredibly easy to talk to.
Starting or growing a private practice can feel like a strange combination of exciting, overwhelming, and why did no one tell me about this part?
At Sage Therapy and Consulting, we offer practical, one-on-one consulting for therapists who want support navigating the business side of private practice. Whether you are starting from scratch, trying to get credentialed with insurance, setting up your systems, or realizing your current processes need some serious attention, consulting is designed to help you move forward with more clarity and less trial and error.
This is practical support from someone who understands both clinical work and the realities of running a therapy practice.
You do not have to be brand new to benefit from consulting.
Sometimes the practice is up and running—but the systems behind it are not working as well as they could.
Consulting can also help established therapists simplify workflows, troubleshoot credentialing or billing issues, improve practice organization, prepare to add another clinician, or think through the next stage of their business.
Whether you are building something new or trying to make your existing practice work better, you do not have to figure out every piece on your own.
Consulting provides education, strategy, resources, and guidance based on professional experience. It is not legal, accounting, tax, or financial advice, and consultation with the appropriate licensed professional may be recommended when needed.
Brief clarification questions related to a completed consultation are welcome. Questions requiring additional review, research, or individualized guidance may require another scheduled consultation.
For therapy services, I accept BCBS, Medicare, Nebraska Medicaid, Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, CHAMPVA, Medica, Lyra Health, and Midlands Choice, and self-pay is also available. Insurance applies to eligible therapy services only and cannot be used for consulting. Contact me to verify therapy coverage or ask about consulting fees.

If you don’t have health insurance coverage for therapy, it may be worth checking with your employer to see whether you have access to Lyra Health or another employee assistance benefit. I accept Lyra EAP when available. I also offer a prompt-pay discount for clients who are uninsured and paying for therapy themselves. Please contact me for current fee and payment information.
